The La Ristra story starts with the fundamental appreciation for family legacy. None of us would be here if not for the generations before us, and many of us are fortunate enough to benefit from their wisdom, hard work and commitment to the future thriving of their families and communities.
Home-cooked meals were a cornerstone of our family tradition because they were a catalyst for connection, understanding and gratitude. We created La Ristra out of the desire to provide Gilbert and Chandler a space where other families could celebrate their ongoing legacies, and connect with each other effortlessly over hearty food and delicious drinks.
New Mexican Heritage
We are a family owned and operated restaurant that serves our community with authentic New Mexican cuisine. Our recipes have been passed down from generation to generation, and we consider it a privilege to offer a unique New Mexican experience to our neighbors.
The name La Ristra comes from the Spanish word “Ristra”, which translates to “string” in English, and typically refers to an arrangement of drying chile pepper pods, garlic bulbs, or other vegetables for later consumption. Symbolically, ristras are a trademark of New Mexican decorative design.
Chiles & Tequila
Hatch Chile from Hatch Valley, NM, is a staple in most of our dishes. Every year, we travel back to the Land of Enchantment every Fall to purchase the finest green chiles and fiery reds. We take immense care in the chile sourcing, roasting and cooking process, and use chile as a main ingredient that amplifies entrees with its robust flavor and spice.
Our love for New Mexican cuisine is only matched by our love for tequila! We take great pride in our selection of over 150 tequilas at both our restaurants, offering expressions that span Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and many more! The world of tequila marries tradition with innovation, and often features rich stories of family legacy – something we deeply resonate with. Our tequilas can be enjoyed in their purest form as pours or flights, or in combination with other flavors as one of our signature margaritas.
